"La luce del nero", a theatrical production by Teatro tascabile di Bergamo, is a collective dance that blends ritual and vision, navigating the pain of the present. Through music, poetry, and movement, figures of shadow and light give shape to a secular prayer that invites us to pause and reflect, through both sight and memory.
Following its Bergamo premiere in June 2025 and a summer tour across Italy and Europe, TTB brings “La luce del nero”, its latest production for open spaces, to its home city.
The performance revolves around a common, even trivial, experience: Weltschmerz, the profound sorrow we feel in response to a world racked by unbearable suffering. TTB represents this pain through a dance, or perhaps a prayer physical and a-religious. The core of the sound narrative is Ravel’s Bolero. The movements of the stilt-walking figures are inspired by Maurice Béjart’s famous choreography, by Gurdjieff’s Mouvements, and by other bodily forms of prayers which engage the whole being.
The performance is presented in collaboration with gres art 671, a multidisciplinary center for contemporary art and culture
