SMOKING ROOMS

di mk / Michele Di Stefano

Type events

Start date 28.08.2026 - 19:00

Days friday

The performance evokes the suspended atmosphere of places where bodies are summoned into a forced proximity: a waiting room, an antechamber, the backstage of a theater. What emerges is a complex and fragile environment, the result of layered agreements and symbioses, a kind of coral reef that resolves its own fragility moment by moment.

Event with two performances: 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM
Preview performance

The mk group, led by Michele Di Stefano, has been working in choreography and performance since 2000, revolving around a core of shared, cross-disciplinary projects. Di Stefano received the Silver Lion for innovation in dance at the Venice Biennale (2014) and the 2019 UBU Award for Bermudas_forever. His creations explore ever-changing performative formats and devices, from the rehearsal room to urban spaces.

MANIFESTUS

by Jacopo Jenna

The Latin word MANIFESTUS (clear, evident) indeed contains the word manus (hand). To manifest is a way of saying "I AM HERE," it is the moment when we, together, seize a fleeting trace of reality and present it to the eyes of the public, the piazza, of others.

LA LUCE DEL NERO

by Teatro tascabile di Bergamo

"La luce del nero", a theatrical production by Teatro tascabile di Bergamo, is a collective dance that blends ritual and vision, navigating the pain of the present. Through music, poetry, and movement, figures of shadow and light give shape to a secular prayer that invites us to pause and reflect, through both sight and memory.
