A conversation on identity, desire, and queer masculinity as forms of journey and transformation.
An encounter exploring travel as a space for discovery, transformation, and the redefinition of the self, starting from Isaac Julien’s The Long Road to Mazatlán (1999, 18’). The screening of the work will open a conversation led by Sara Luraschi, educator at the Immaginare Orlando Association, exploring identity, masculinity, desire, and belonging, while engaging with queer imaginaries and identities in motion, and examining desire as a personal, cultural, and political experience.
The event is part of the public program presented by gres art 671 on the occasion of Isaac Julien’s exhibition Museum Dreams, and is also included among the special events of FUORI TUTTə, the film series curated by Associazione Immaginare Orlando in collaboration with Lab 80 film.
- The event starts at 7:30 pm.
- PLEASE NOTE: We recommend watching the work before attending the talk. For event participants, The Long Road to Mazatlán will be screened from 6:00 pm onwards, with screenings approximately every 18 minutes.
