DON’T LOOK UP

The Latin word MANIFESTUS (clear, evident) indeed contains the word manus (hand). To manifest is a way of saying "I AM HERE," it is the moment when we, together, seize a fleeting trace of reality and present it to the eyes of the public, the piazza, of others.

The performance evokes the suspended atmosphere of places where bodies are summoned into a forced proximity: a waiting room, an antechamber, the backstage of a theater. What emerges is a complex and fragile environment, the result of layered agreements and symbioses, a kind of coral reef that resolves its own fragility moment by moment.

"La luce del nero", a theatrical production by Teatro tascabile di Bergamo, is a collective dance that blends ritual and vision, navigating the pain of the present. Through music, poetry, and movement, figures of shadow and light give shape to a secular prayer that invites us to pause and reflect, through both sight and memory.
